Demand to the VCEG about releasing the documents for extraordinary senate
We demand that the VCEG release the restructuring plan that will be put to next month’s extraordinary senate by 9th May, to give adequate time for all staff to assess it. The original plans published in February were deeply unpopular and were not discussed at the last senate meeting. Publishing the revised plan in good time is essential for giving all staff an opportunity to read it and respond, and ensure the process is fully inclusive. We wrote this demand at the Comms meeting on Monday, as mandated by last weeks meeting. However, it was not clearly decided what we were supposed to do with it once it was written. Please give feedback so we can finalise it and do whatever we were supposed to. It is unclear what we are publishing this demand for. how are we going to present it to the VG? if we make a flyer to distribute to faculty and students publicising the fact that we have made this demand, what do we want them to do with this knowledge? sign a petition? or what? and what are we going to do if they ignore it? should we threaten them in some way? are we going to have a protest on the day? seriously, we just dont know the answers to any of these questions! please help

Hey,
I think we should discuss most of these questions at the meeting on thursday once more (ideally in the form of concrete proposals). I know this is far from ideal, but I think it's probably the best way to come to agreement on these things.
I guess it was a mistake to not specify this things in enough detail.
The demand itself is phrased in a good way, but maybe it should have an introduction of some kind. We should also probably make sure that it gets into the hands of senior management.
Sorry for the rather vague comments. There is definately a problem here:-)
